Meeting Location: Happy Creek Trailhead. From the kiosk, drive 1 mile to a sign on the right that says "Happy Creek Day Use Area". Continue just past that sign to the parking area on the left and look for us there. We will gather in the open field where the picnic tables are.
Transportation: Optional carpool from Wild Diversity. Let your guide know where they can expect to meet you.
About this Trip: In this event, we’ll move slowly and gently through the ancient forests at Oxbow Regional Park, practicing skills associated with shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. Forest bathing lets you soak in the beauty and wonder of nature, connect to your senses, and witness the many beings who share the space with us. Expect some easy walking, as well as sitting among the trees and near the Sandy River. We’ll close our time together with a tea ceremony to share our gratitude for the forest.
Rolling terrain, gentle slopes. 1.36 miles total, elevation gain 369 feet. Very slow pace, including some sitting.
Activity Level: Open to All Levels
What to Bring: Filled water bottle, snacks, walking/hiking shoes, rain layers or other layers needed for comfort, a small day pack (if desired). More questions on What to Expect? We got ya.
